GENERAL The TCP ReGen is a Source - Sink power supply system, able to supply the specified DC power into a load and regenerating reactive energy from the load back into the grid.
The system consists of the following two main modules: a) A programmable DC power supply b) A power feed-back system to convert reactive energy directly into the mains / input with a very high efficiency. With a built-in isolation transformer, complete galvanic isolation from mains / input is guaranteed.
Control and monitoring of the system is performed by the Master unit. This eliminates the well-known zero crossing distortions which are typical in other multi-quadrant arrays. Our TCP ReGen is an ideal current source capable of providing active energy and of absorbing regenerative energy at a given voltage polarity. In a typical quadrant, this takes place in the quadrants 1 and 4:

Both the supply and the regenerative units of the system are centrally managed & controlled in order to avoid the well-known “dead band instabilities”. Operation, control and display of the complete system are centrally and uniformly performed either manually on the power supply’s front panel or remotely via the computer interface or analog programming. The fully integrated control and regulation software contains a versatile bi-polar function generator which can control voltage, current and power in addition to basic functions.
Not only basic wave forms but also specific and arbitrary curves can be defined, stored and recalled.
In addition to time-dependent functions, also parametric programming is possible: Instead of the time axis, an input variable Vin, Ain or Pin can be selected. The user is now able to define a transfer function for the other two quantities. For example, the actual value of the process current Ain defines the set value for the output voltage, etc. and the functional dependence of the two quantities can be defined by the user’s functional curve (value table). Simulation of an internal resistance is standard. SOURCE & FEED BACK EXAMPLES

POWER SUPPLY SAFETY FEATURES: - Complete galvanic isolation between the load and the input / mains (isolation voltage > 2,500 V).
- Soft-start to limit turn-on surge currents.
- Over Voltage- and Over Current protection. Limits are adjustable between 0 - 110% of Vmax and Imax. When the over voltage or over current limit is reached, the power supply instantly disables the power stage and indicates immediately the corresponding error status.
- Protection against accidental contact of output copper bars
- Emergency stop button on front panel. Mushroom button to system interlock, expandable to further external safety switches
- Short Circuit & Flash-over proof
POWER SUPPLY MAIN FEATURES- Constant voltage (0-100%), constant current (0-100%) and constant power (5-100%) mode with automatic and fast crossover and operating mode (CV, CC, CP) indication
- 95% efficiency resulting from the application of innovative IGBT and transformer technology
- Standard, built-in Analog Programming (0-10V) and RS232 computer interface
- Programming of linear ramp functions
- Remote sense terminal to compensate a voltage drop on the load lines
- Internal resistance simulation
- User-friendly operating features
- Full digital control and regulation
- A user-friendly PC program, the operating and service software TopControl, enables the user to communicate with the power supply.
